Standing In a Mirage
I have resided in quite a few 5-star hotels, but very few leave the impression that Raffles Dubai has left on me. Sure, I have been inside arguably some of the most attractive hotels in the world, but I walked through the doors and was floored not only by the courtesy of the staff but by the magical aura given by this 5-star treasure.
The Egyptian themed palace astounded me at a glance and Keen the head concierge treated me like royalty the minute I left my vehicle. Realizing he was from one of my favorite countries Kenya, I wasted no time flexing my usage of the Swahili language, picked up from years of friendship with international co-workers.
After exchanging pleasantries, my bags were collected and check in was as painless as an Eiderdown pillow fight. As I arrived on my floor, the circular lounging island that displayed several grand hallways to the rooms pleasantly caught my eye.
A round leather sofa graced its center with an array of dark brass lamps looming over the plush sitting area. An Egyptian statue dawned the end of every hallway as we walked down the slightly dim yet tranquil passage.

As I entered the suite my room was no disappointment, it was spacious with a large balcony, and the view displayed part of Dubai's striking city skyline as well as it's award-winning Botanical Garden. A large desk was very convenient for my photography and blogging needs, and I am introduced to my butler who is always prompt to take care of all services I needed throughout my stay.
As for dinner; a fantastic evening was quite memorable as I found my way to Tomo, their well decorated and fully staffed Japanese restaurant on the rooftop. The cuisine was fresh and tasty, rivaled only by the excellent breakfast I ordered via room service the following morning. The restaurant's oversized balcony provided me with an exquisite view of the city and added to the Tomo's grand setting.
A few more days of perfect service in this well-located oasis made for more than an enjoyable stay at Raffles Dubai, and my check out didn't leave me in a zombie-like trance to ponder why an overpriced, under-serviced hotel was the primary choice for my temporary residence in the United Arab Emirates. The rate was exceptional and only gave way to more appreciation for this established desert sanctuary.

My stay at Raffles Dubai from the reasonable costs to the service was more than Impressive and a just cause for my many returns to this Middle Eastern metropolis. I must confess Raffles has certainly not seen the last of Eddie Global. Do enjoy your stay.
